Uchida, DDS, MS, and his daughters Dr. Cherie C. Uchida-Moribe, DDS, and Dr. Renee C. Uchida-Hashizume, DDS. Each earned a DDS at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry and then completed two years of pediatric specialty training. Your child's first visit: The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first dental visit when the first tooth appears, and no later than the first birthday, then a checkup every six months (AAPD). To prepare, read a picture book about the dentist, play "dentist" at home by counting each other's teeth, and ask us about a short tour of the office before the appointment. Our first dental visit guide explains the exam. Sealants also help: the CDC reports they prevent 80% of cavities in the back teeth (CDC).

Who are the pediatric dentists at Uchida Pediatric Dentistry?
Our three doctors are a father and his two daughters. All three earned their Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry and then completed two more years of specialty training in pediatric dentistry.

For tooth pain, swelling, a broken tooth or a mouth injury, call (808) 739-0878 first and the team will guide you. For a knocked-out permanent tooth, keep it in milk or saline and get care right away; the AAP says it has the best chance of being saved if it's back in the socket within 15 minutes (AAP).
